Marine Scientist, Science Educator, Divemaster, Political Junkie
I grew up in the Midwestern United States but have discovered a love for (mostly marine) bony fishes. My Asperger’s has pushed this love into a full specialist subject and I spend a lot of my time reading and talking to scientists to learn as much as I can about them! My research interests center on fish behavioral, chemical, and physiological ecology, as well as the advancement of scientific opportunities for traditionally underrepresented groups. I am currently a PhD student at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute, where I work with cryptobenthic coral reef fishes. If you are new here I recommend starting with “The Autistic Spark” to get an idea of this blog’s purpose and goals.
